Day Time Skincare Routine

I know I’ve already made a video about my day time routine, but I received a lot of messages asking where I get my products! Honestly, they’re mostly all from Shopee, but I do prefer to purchase from Seek Space! For this blog, I want to share with you why I love these products, and I’ll link you to them for your convenience ;) (Disclaimer: this isn’t sponsored, I’m genuinely in love with these products!)

From L-R: Axis-Y Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam, Axis-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner, iUnik Tea Tree Relief Serum, Some by Mi Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum, Aesop Two Minds Facial Hydrator, Some by Mi Truecica Aqua Calming Suncream

Axis-Y Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam

I’ve gone through different kinds of cleansers before I finally found a certain combination of ingredients that works for me. Back in college, I suffered from hormonal acne, and it was incredibly painful. Even the most gentle of cleansers such as Cetaphil stopped working. Prior to using Axis-Y’s Sunday Morning Cleansing Foam, I was a huge fan of First Aid Beauty’s Pure Skin Face Cleanser! I was supposed to purchase a full-sized bottle of it but of course I wanted to try something else 😏 I then came across Axis-Y on Seek Space, and finally gave in after hearing good reviews about this cleanser for a loooong time.

I would recommend this for people with acne-prone, sensitive combination skin! With regular use, it effectively removes dirt and even makeup remnants 🫣 As in you’ll feel clean after washing your face.

Texture: Whipped, thick, creamy

Color: White

Fragrance: None

Would I buy this again? Yes. A thousand times yes.

Axis-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner

Long story short, this toner didn’t give me problems at all. It does the job in cleaning up remaining dirt on my skin, and it has exfoliating properties (a low percentage of BHA, 0.5% to be exact!) The brand claims this toner is perfect for a hot and humid climate, and I’d have to agree. It never dried out my skin, and it never made my skin greasy (unlike toners with very high alcohol content).

Texture: Watery. I usually give the bottle a good shake before I pour some onto a cotton pad just because 🤷🏻‍♀️

Color: Clear (which I appreciate, because I can see if there’s dirt on the cotton pad)

Fragrance: Slight hint of tea tree and citrus, but not overpowering.

Would I buy this again? Yes!

iUnik Tea Tree Relief Serum

I’ll repeat it again. The bottle I have with me today is my fourth purchase. And it’s halfway empty – panic-inducing sight for me, who deems this product a holy grail item. Also purchased (and re-purchased) from Seek Space, this lightweight serum is something I would always recommend this serum to people with oily and acne-prone skin. Your skin would just soak this one right up and you’ll definitely feel the “relief” from the Centella Asiatica component! I also noticed that it helps calm down inflammation, redness, and it speeds up the healing process of my zits. BONUS factor is that it helps fade dark acne marks. I swear this serum is one of my ride or dies. Bury me with it!!

Texture: Runny, but not watery.

Color: A pleasant hint of green in the bottle.

Fragrance: Fresh tea tree scent, but not overpowering.

Would I buy this again? Is that even a question?? Duh.

Some by Mi Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum

This one is the newest addition to my day time routine. My t-zone has gaping pores, especially when the weather’s feels like we’re right up in satan’s asshole. Wearing surgical face masks don’t help since it traps the hot air I breathe out in it. Gosh. 😩 HOWEVER, upon trying this serum out, I noticed that the time it takes for my skin to become greasy was significantly delayed. Bonus points because it didn’t irritate my skin, and its pore tightening claim is more or less true! I need to finish the bottle to give this a complete thumbs up. But it’s already proven to be effective for me, and that’s a win, in my book.

Texture: On the gel/viscous side, but fairly runny.

Color: Clear

Fragrance: Fresh green tea scent, dissipates immediately.

Would I buy this again? If I received it as a gift, I would continue to use it. ✨

Aesop Two Minds Facial Hydrator

As an impulse buy, I needed this to work for me. 😂 I strolled inside Rockwell one day, and simply found myself in their pretty store. Next thing I knew the lady was swiping my debit card. I blacked out, I guess. But the scent is beautiful! Honestly I didn’t expect my skin would be friends with this moisturizer. But alas, here we are. At first I knew there was going to be an adjustment period. I’m always wary about moisturizers because it’s the one I lather on my skin the most. I got scared and almost gave up right away because my skin developed those tiny bumps, around the first 2-3 weeks of use; an indication that something isn’t working for me. But eventually it calmed down and my skin knew “this shit’s fancy, I NEED to accept this”. Now it’s a part of my routine. Which kinda sucks because it’s pricey.

Texture: Lotion-y, but not thick. Lathers easily on the skin, and absorbs right away.

Color: White

Fragrance: A fancy combination of bergamot and sandalwood. It smells like a handsome bachelor who wears suits, but it doesn’t linger.

Would I buy this again? Fuck it. I would. And I low-key wanna explore more of Aesop’s skincare. My bank account isn’t prepared for this 😤

🛒 Buy at your own risk (unless you already bathe in and practically drink Aesop products).

Some by Mi Truecica Aqua Calming Suncream

I already repurchased this and I haven’t even finished my first bottle. And I got them on a BOGO sale. I hoarded, yes. Why? Because it’s good, affordable, doesn’t induce copious amounts of grease (as compared to other sunblocks) and it never left a white cast on my skin. It cooperates. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 It never pills no matter how long I massage the product on my face. It also never reacted with my makeup on the rare occasion I’d wear some. During our family trip to the beach earlier this year, I used this as sunblock for my face. Happy to report that I didn’t get a sunburn on my face, given that it does have SPF 50+ PA++++, and has one of my favorite calming ingredients. Yep, you guessed it; CENTELLA ASIATICA.

Texture: Lotion-y, not thick. Your skin will absorb this right away, it doesn’t just sit on top.

Color: If you look closely, there’s a hint of mint green. But it’s pretty much white lol

Fragrance: A fresh tea tree scent. Quickly dissipates.

Would I buy this again? I already did!

So that sums up my day time skincare routine, and why I would basically die for these products. Dramatic, I know. Someday I’ll be these brands’ ambassadress 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼
