Evening Skincare Routine

Our evening rituals are as vital as what we do during the day. For me, my evening skincare routine sends messages to my brain that it’s time to wind down and end the day. There’s nothing that could compare to feeling fresh, hydrated, and moisturized when you slip in between your bedsheets, all ready to either binge-watch on Netflix or pass out. 🌚

Axis-Y Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam

I‘ve already raved about this product over on my Day Time Skincare Routine blog (check it out because I share more deets over there), but in case you stumbled upon this article first, let me tell you why I love this. It doesn’t strip away my skin’s moisture even though it is a foaming cleanser, and it makes my skin feel squeaky clean! Super refreshing, especially after a long day (most especially after taking off your makeup).

Axis-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner

More details about why I love this product ALSO in my Day Time Skincare routine blog, but honestly I might have different thoughts about this now that I’ve introduced retinol in my evening routine. This toner has mild exfoliating effects in itself, so I’m kind of worried I’m over-exfoliating my face sometimes. An excuse to look for a hydrating toner for evening use? Maybe 🤔 But if your skin can handle the added exfoliation, especially if you have a lot of blackheads and dark acne marks, I would highly recommend this!

Mediheal HDP Pore Stamping sheet mask

I came across this sheet mask first on Watsons while I was taking a stroll along their aisles. I grabbed a couple of their other variants and was able to try them all. But this one. I’m telling you. This one is the ONE. It checks all the boxes; hydrating, calming, pore-minimizing, good for sensitive skin, doesn’t sting, doesn’t have a strong smell, the sheet molds nicely on the contours of the face, and it has centella asiatica! What I love about Mediheal sheet masks, is that they don’t skimp on the amount of serum in each packet. There’s so much in one that you can spread the rest of it onto your body! I highly recommend you use this the night before an event.

Texture of sheet mask: Cotton, thin, soft on the skin

Texture of serum: Fairly viscous like gel, but runny.

Color of mask: Black

Color of serum: Clear

Fragrance: Nice refreshing green tea scent

Would I buy this again? I have an entire box of it at home, but if you were to give me more I’d happily accept them so I can use it more often 😂

Some by Mi Retinol Intense Activating Serum

So I’m already 28 years old. And I need to accept the fact that my skin is slowly losing its elasticity. That’s life! But if there’s a way for me to delay that from happening, oh girl sign me up 😩 Being the newest addition to my evening routine, I can’t say much about this product yet except for the following: my skin didn’t go through purging, I did not experience increased skin sensitivity, and it didn’t react with any of my other products. The product easily absorbs into my skin and I noticed it adds moisture (was able to use less moisturizer!)

Texture: Creamy, but not thick like lotion.

Color: Light yellow

Fragrance: None, well, it kinda smells like unscented lotion if that makes sense.

Would I buy this again? Yes, if I don’t come across another retinol serum that could potentially be better than this one!

Some by Mi Retinol Intense Advanced Triple Action Eye Cream

I’m only able to try this out because when I did my Some by Mi haul, this came as a freebie. I’m glad they gave me more than one tube of it, because now I want to purchase a full-sized version! 😩 It’s SO hydrating. I never knew my under eyes needed this much moisture, but they did, and now they’re thanking me. Since I started using this eye cream, I noticed a significant reduction of my dark circles. Bruh 🫡 So if you’re gonna ask me “does it work?” Yes. Yes it does the job. The full size is expensive, but… I’m willing to splurge for this one if it means it’ll only get better the more I use it 💸

Texture: Thick, like lotion

Color: Light yellow, same as the serum

Fragrance: None

Would I buy this again? Well now I want to because all I got were samples 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask

Sorry to break it to you, but Body Shop’s Drops of Youth line has been phased out, and replaced with their new Edelweiss line. My sister and I are devastated because we love using this mask as our evening moisturizer so much. It’s hydrating, and leaves your skin with an amazing dewy sheen. And it’s even better when you wake up the next day! 🥹 Poreless. Supple. Properly hydrated. We can only hope that the new version performs better than its predecessor. RIP Drops of Youth. I’m not gonna break down the product anymore since you won’t be able to purchase it anyway. Sadly. I had hoped more people could witness its magic. This is one of my holy grails, and now it’s gone 😭

🛒 You can purchase the new Edelweiss Bouncy Sleeping mask direct from their website though 👀

Some by Mi Truecica Aqua Calming Suncream

This product has become even more vital in my routine now that I’ve started using retinol. The last thing I want is to burn 🔥 I’ve already talked about this in my Day Time Skincare Routine blog (more deets over there), but I shall repeat it for those who came here first. I would describe this sunscreen as your unproblematic low-maintenance BFF. You can pile it on top of your other products without worrying about pilling, and it wouldn’t react with other active ingredients. Apart from its impressive sun blocking capabilities, it contains my favorite ingredient; centella asiatica 🗣️

So that sums up my thoughts about each of the products in my evening routine! And as usual, I wouldn’t recommend these if I didn’t like them. These aren’t sponsored links! All products have been purchased with my own money 💸
